Inspiration
With an impressive 45 year career as an actress, singer and dancer, Judy stands out not only as a fashion icon but as woman we admire for her personal strength through adversity and advocacy for mental health. Join us as we celebrate the dazzling fashion trends behind this legendary icon.
With an impressive array of 35 movies under her belt, Judy was known as a comical and witty woman. She entered Hollywood at the early age of 13 and left an incredible mark on the film industry that would stand the test of time. Despite the huge ripples Judy made on the movies screens, she endured struggles in her personal life from an early age through the testing life in show business and hardship during unhappy marriages. Judy’s life was tragically cut short at the age of 47 due to an accidental overdose during her visit to London performing at the Cabaret, but her effervescent character will live on forever.
Donning a statement floral dress better than anybody, Judy always out shined even the prettiest of floral moments with her charming personality and undoubtable talent. Judy embraces the motto of “the bolder and brighter the better” and we loved her fearlessness when it came to fashion.
Often traveling to perform, coats were an essential item in Judy’s wardrobe and they never compromised on style! Judy loved a classic fit and flare silhouette and wore her coats over dresses and paired them with pumps and a statement lipstick, exuding ladylike charm whilst on the go.
Judy Garland was on team spots AND stripes, which we totally love! Polka dots and pin stripes have never ever gone out of style and have proven to be a fashion staple season after season. Judy often sported them on a range of different dresses to add extra pizazz and personality to her look.
Puff sleeves, blouson sleeves, cap sleeves and long cuffed sleeves were just a few of the sleeve types in Judy’s repertoire. The phrase “the bigger the better” often rang true and we adore her for that. Not only did the sleeves add extra framing to her petite body type, it influenced fashion trends for years to come.
